Fifty minutes in a class can impact a student forever. With this in mind, I want students to come into my class and find ways to be life-long learners with an understanding eye of seeing from a different view point. As I look back onto my education, it is evident that my favorite classes were ones that exposed me to different view-points, challenged me to see an event through a different light, and challenged my peers to do the same. This has inspired me to bring these different viewpoints and cultural lenses into my classroom, and challenge my students to rethink the world around them. By the time students leave my class I want them to feel empowered by their new perspectives and comfortable to express them within their everyday lives.
